Saint is still pre-release, so some of this describes how things will work rather than how they already do. Where that's the case, it says so. If your question isn't here, email me — it reaches a person, not a queue.

Getting started

What is Saint, exactly?

A personal AI agent that runs on your Mac. It can see what's on your screen, click and type in your applications, remember things across sessions, and search the web when it needs something it doesn't already know. You describe a job in plain language; it carries the job out and shows you what it did.

What do I need to run it?

macOS 13 Ventura or later, on Apple silicon or Intel. There's no Windows build yet — it's planned but not dated. If you're on Windows, join the list and you'll hear the moment that changes.

Is it available now?

Not yet. The build unlocks on 15 September 2026. Until then, "Deploy your Saint" takes your email so the download reaches you the day it's live, and beta testers get it first.

Does it need an internet connection?

Yes. Saint reasons in the cloud and searches the live web, so it needs to be online to do useful work.

Installing

How do I install it?

On release day you'll get an email with a download link and your invite code. Open the downloaded file, drag Saint to your Applications folder, and launch it. It will ask for your invite code the first time it opens.

macOS says it can't check the app for malicious software

That's Gatekeeper. If you see it, the build hasn't finished Apple's notarisation yet. Right-click the app and choose Open, then confirm — that's the standard route past it. Don't disable Gatekeeper system-wide; you'd be turning off a protection that's doing its job on every other app too.

Where do I get the download?

usesaint.com/download — enter your invite code. Before release day it shows a countdown; after it, the build.

Invite codes

What does a code look like?

Something like SAINT-K3M9-P2QX. The alphabet deliberately leaves out characters that get misread — no letter O, no zero, no I or 1 — because these get read off one screen and typed into another.

Where do I find mine?

In the email sent when your beta session was completed, or in the release email. Search your inbox for "invite code". If you can't find it, email me from the address you signed up with and I'll resend it.

My code isn't being accepted

Check for a typo first — the code is checked exactly, though case and spaces don't matter. If it still fails, the likely cause is that you're using a different address from the one it was issued to. Email me and I'll look it up.

Can I share my code?

Please don't. It's tied to your email and intended for one person. Sharing it can mean it stops working for both of you.

Permissions

What will macOS ask me to allow?

Two things, both from System Settings → Privacy & Security:

  • Screen Recording — so Saint can see what's on screen. Without it, it's working blind.
  • Accessibility — so Saint can click, type and move between windows. Without it, it can look but not act.

macOS usually requires you to quit and reopen the app after granting these.

Can Saint see everything all the time?

No. You scope it to an app or a window, and you can pause it or stop a task mid-run. It doesn't run in the background without you knowing.

Can I stop it partway through something?

Yes, at any point. That's deliberate — an agent that drives your computer and can't be interrupted isn't one you should be running.

Should I let it near my banking or passwords?

No. Scope it away from anything you wouldn't want acted on without review. This is pre-release software that operates your machine; treat it accordingly.

The beta programme

What does taking a beta place involve?

A 30-minute video call. You use Saint on something real from your own work while I watch, and you tell me where it's wrong. Nothing to prepare, and you don't need to be technical — a confused first five minutes is more useful to me than a polished demo.

What do I get?

A thank-you payment after the call, at the amount shown when you signed up, sent however you like to be paid. Plus the build on day one, ahead of the queue.

How do I book, reschedule or cancel?

You pick a slot from the calendar after signing up, and get an email invitation with reschedule and cancel links in it. If something comes up last minute, replying to that email reaches me directly.

Are places limited?

Yes, and they're first come, first served. Once they're taken the calendar closes.

Plans and billing

What does it cost?

Nothing right now. Saint is free while it's in beta and no card is requested. The Free plan is 30 tasks a month. Pro and Max pricing genuinely isn't decided yet — where the site shows TBC, that's not a placeholder we forgot to fill in.

Will I be charged automatically?

No. Nobody is charged without agreeing to a price first, and beta testers keep their access whatever the pricing turns out to be.

What counts as a task?

One job you hand over, from the instruction to the finished result — not each click Saint makes along the way. The exact accounting will be published before anything is charged for.

Email and your data

How do I stop the emails?

Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link and it takes effect immediately. You don't need to reply or ask.

What do you actually store about me?

Your email address, anything optional you chose to answer, which list you joined, and your booking if you made one. IP addresses are never stored — only a salted hash used to rate-limit signups. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.

Can I get my data deleted?

Yes. Email me and it's removed. There's no form to fill in.

Troubleshooting

Saint can see my screen but won't click anything

That's Accessibility permission missing. System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility, switch Saint on, then quit and reopen it.

It's acting on a stale version of my screen

Usually Screen Recording permission was granted while the app was already running. Quit Saint and open it again.

I never got the confirmation email

Check spam, and search for mail from usesaint.com. If there's nothing, the address may have a typo in it — sign up again, or email me and I'll correct the record.

Something else is wrong

Tell me what you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead. That's genuinely the most useful bug report there is.
